Hmmm. I don’t think that version ends the recovery startup business employee retention credit. Take another look. When I trace through the changes, the RSB ERC still exists through end of the year.

No sorry that 1099 money doesn’t count… but here’s the thing to ponder: If you would qualify for ERC in Q4 due to having a recovery startup business? Maybe you should convert one or more 1099 contractors to employees?

In my situation – I meeting the new business opportunity but my existing business has no direct employees (only myself and my spouse as the owners), but several 1099 based individuals that do various services for me, but also for others. Is the money spent with applicable?
